It's been busy 'round these parts.
I'm gearing up for three new exhibitions for the jobs:
1. Structure + Color, drawings by Abie Harris @ Rebus Works
2. The Importance of Place, photographs by Russell Gorga at the Block Gallery
3. Block Blink, a mini-exhibition of camera phone photographs also at the Block Gallery
They are all opening on April 4.
And, I'll be on art scoutin' trip to Asheville, Penland and Celo this weekend. I can't wait to find all sorts of new treasures, and report back on what I see!
Finally, I'm readying my little graphic design portfolio. There's much to be done, and I'm really excited to get to work. (If only there were more hours in the day, and maybe more days of the week, too.) Finding inspiration in some new book purchases (Hand Job, New Vintage Type)*, I'm starting to work on a (mostly) handmade/hand-drawn flyer for the T's show at Sadlack's (April 18). The clock is certainly ticking.
*Both book links above direct you to reviews/interviews on Book By Its Cover, the blog of designer/illustrator Julia Rothman. She covers all sorts of books, including artist-made. Seriously, it's amazing. From there you can link to buy.
